Cathartic Heeling

“Participants outlined their feet, then wrote their attributes on one, and negative traits on the other. Putting words in writing implies ownership, and thus becomes a cathartic experience. The final montage is a dance with the sun and moon, the light and the dark, the pluses and minuses of human existence.

“We had a wonderful exchange with the Cowichan Intercultural Society, Duncan, British Colombia, Canada. When I hung their work at our YMCA gallery, I also hung the pieces we received last year, and our own photomontages. The exhibit got great reviews.
