I Dream A World
Kew Gardens, New York, USA
“My GAP art with its accompanying poem. Printed on metallic paper. The framed Dove Pin on the window sill: Madeleine Albright was given this pin as a gift from the widow of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was slain because of his support for peace. She wore the dove pin while speaking about Middle East peace negotiations to convey the need for ending violence and to encourage reconciliation between historic rivals in Israel.
“Butterfly on window sill: Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.”
Carol is a Regional Coordinator for the Global Art Project in New York. She organized 18 artists and two groups in Kew Gardens, NY to participate in the exchange and exhibit their art at Austin’s Ale House. They also exhibited the art they received from their GAP partners around the world.
