The Face of Peace
The Bort Family

The Bort family, under the direction of Richard Bort and Suzanne Bort Gray, collaborated to make The Face of Peace. The montage is made up of thousands of images of people who touched the lives of the family. These small photos were combined into a larger picture…. six faces representing male, female, old, young, black, white, Asian, and Middle Eastern. Every member of the family participated in this project (including those who still live in Ukraine). With the help of Captain Matthew Reinhardt, the Bort project was partnered with a group of women in Ramadi, Iraq and was the first Global Art Project sent to that country.
