“I created a collage of the sunset from a picture I took while on vacation on Lake Superior. Northern Wisconsin has special significance to me: it’s a place where my family would camp, where I would fall in love with nature over and over again. That, to me, represents my innermost peace.”

Bottom: Karrissa Bechtold

“When I think of peace I see connections. The two things that connect everyone together is the sky and the ocean. The sea holds all the countries together and we all see the same sky. I chose to put the galaxies where the continents are because I believe we are all made of stardust and that’s what connects us all together. We may look different or worship differently but at the end we’re all made of stardust.”
