Dah-How-Nien; Great-Wonderful-Year

Hui-Fen Jessica Lin
Tainan City, Taiwan

“I chose the Chinese characters ‘Dah-How-Nien’, meaning ‘Great-Wonderful-Year’, to express my expectations and blessings toward the world I live in. The Taiwanese floral fabric of peony and the golden-embroidered satin was gathered to build up glory and jubilant atmosphere. The Chinese knob and the ancient copper coins symbolize fortune and luck.

“This art work was exclusively sewn by hand. The main background purple fabric was hand-dyed by myself.” Hui-Fen Jessica Lin
